Dear friends and colleagues,
I’m pleased to introduce you at the 3rd edition of the annual Workshop of the multidisciplinary network SeS Redox and Catalysis. After an electronic conferences organized in 2011 (as side event on the celebration of the prof. Tiecco retirement) the first WSeS-1 meeting has been realized in 2012 announcing the creation of a departmental research network involved in multidisciplinary projects related to selenium sulfur and redox catalysis. After one year, the second edition (WSeS-2) was the occasion to present the results obtained by the network as well as the idea to extend internationally the succesfull experience. In 2013, we also guested the plenary lecture of prof. Enrico Marcantoni dedicated to the retirement of prof. Lorenzo Testaferri.
The WSeS meetings are designed as a space for young researchers (undergraduate students and PhD students) in order to give them the opportunity to present their results and researches in a stimulating and multidisciplinary environment.
The third edition, which we are going to attend, is the results of the internationalization of the network and will be presented contributes from Poland, UK and Brazil. We collected 17 short communications interspersed by eight plenary lectures given by talented colleagues as didactical contribute to the scientific formation of the young attendants. It will be a nice opportunity for the students to appreciate the applicability of the results of their efforts in a broad and multidisciplinary project framework and for the entire scientist to share ideas, experiences and suggestions. Also this year, in order to facilitate the participation of the students, the attendance at the workshop is free of charge and we apologize in advance if we will be not able to offer you coffee breaks and lunches.
I hope that everybody will enjoy the lectures and the friendly environment, welcome to WSeS-3 !
